Wheat androclynic calli obtained in anther culture in vitro were studied by the method of scanning electron microscopy. It has been established the facts of the formation of germing pollen tubes among callus cells. Possible pathways of the formation of pollen tubes within callus and physiological factors contributed to its formation are discussed. It has been proposed the use of androclynic callus in vitro as the model system for studying of mechanisms of pollen tubes formation as well as pollen grain-pistil interactions.
