Summary:
Describes the specificity of oil pollution of the water environment, its effect on water inhabitants such as benthos, plankton, fish, birds and mammals. The features of mechanical, thermal, physic-chemical methods for cleaning water object from oil and oil products are briefly disclosed. Special attention is paid to microbiological methods, the advantages of which are efficiency, efficiency, environmental safety and the absence of secondary pollution.
